Metricon 8 From Outside the Establishment: Size Does(n’t?) Matter.

Michael Roytman    March 8, 2013

This was my first time attending RSA, and on top of that I am fairly new to the Security industry. If RSA were a Senate race, I would be Ashley Judd. I am not, however, new to statistics. The following is an outsider’s perspective on Metricon, one without any preconceptions of the space. Spoiler: to be more secure as an… Read more »

One program I was able to not only… Read more »

Ed Bellis    April 17, 2012

Last week I had the pleasure of delivering a keynote presentation at the IANS Twin Cities Security Forum. Having been involved and participated in IANS events in the past I knew what to expect. They always do a great job with their Security Forums with a very unique format. Probably what I like the most about these forums is the… Read more »

Security Intelligence != SIEM

Ed Bellis    March 5, 2012

I’ve just returned from RSA, BSides and Metricon and thought I would pen a few of my thoughts while they’re still fresh in my mind. On Monday I had the privilege of participating in a panel on Data Driven Security at Metricon 6.5. Scott Crawford moderated and has a great blog series on data driven security. It was an interesting… Read more »

BayThreat: From Shaman to Scientist

Ed Bellis    December 20, 2011

I recently gave an updated talk on my data driven security use case at BayThreat 2 in Mountain View. First off, thanks to Marisa Fagan and all the organizers, this year was even better than last. Also, apologies for not being able to stay for the entire weekend, alas duty called. I have been making my rounds at various security… Read more »
